I agonisingly deliberated over my purchasing of this dress for a beach wedding (at Pigeon Point, Tobago, West Indies, to be exact). Its style, length and even its colour seemed to emphasise, rather than enhance, the stereotype of my conservative, rather goody-two-shoes image. Given my particular body shape, too, I also contemplated the risk of the maternity look. Nevertheless, throwing caution to the wind I did, needless to say, eventually buy this dress. What I can say with confidence is that the yellow complemented my rather warm complexion and the dress did, indeed, fit. I think, though, that I did look a tad paunchy... (see photo). I have, therefore, concluded that this dress is better suited for the pencil-slim as well as those with either practised or very good posture. In good lighting too, the lining is both easily discernible and unsightly because it is not of a similar colour to the dress. Regardless, I have given a five-star rating because the dress in and by itself is really beautiful.The arm pits and chest were tight even when one sized up.I ordered this dress for my husband and my third anniversary. Although we are in our golden years I wanted to have something special for this day. We plan to visit a couple of wineries in Monticello, and found a lovely B&B in the Charlottesville area. This dress is absolutely perfect. The fit is just right for me at 5’ 6 1/2” 149 pounds, I ordered a LARGE. It looks wonderful.I am 5’7 and this was not long enough. Honestly I felt this dress was pretty ugly. I returned. It was see-through. The design in theory looked like the picture but the execution was cheap. Definitely more worth the money.The color yellow was not a bright yellow, fit at the waist was higher not sure if it fit under the breast or waist.Loved the dress. Perfect fitting and very comfortable dressI love this dress - got the white with the blue and red pattern in a L. I'm 160 and 5'6 and it fit very well. I was happy to see the front and skirt were fully lined with a polyester material. I still could see colored panties through the material though so wore with a slip. Darker color dress might not need slip. The back and sleeves are pretty sheer but I love it - breathable in the heat. I got lots of compliments when I wore it and many asked where I got it - college aged girls as well as other moms and grandmas! Thanks Amazon Prime!This dress is actually really nice. I wore it for a mommy and me nursing photo shoot, and it was perfect. The material is nice and it’s actually really well made. Even my photographer, who normally uses boutique brands, was really impressed with this dress. It’s a tad sheer, but not so much that I needed a slip, just be mindful of your undergarments.
